Create Your State™ is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains exactly what information we collect, where it lives, and how it is used. We want to be completely transparent.

What We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to deliver your experience:

• Daily Check In metric scores — six metrics rated 1 to 10
• Journal entries across the Seven Realms of Wellness
• ARC Reset history — your Awareness and Redirect thoughts
• Session history, streak data, and points
• Feedback form responses — when you choose to submit them
• Basic usage data — which features you use and when
• Website email signups — your email address, if you join our early-access list or newsletter
• Booking and inquiry details — information you provide when you book a call, submit a form or email us

Where Your Data Lives — Three Locations

1. Your Device — Local Storage

The majority of your personal data is stored directly on your device. This includes your check-in scores, journal entries, ARC Reset history, streak, session data, and points. This data does not leave your device unless you explicitly enable cloud backup — which requires your separate consent and is not active by default.

If you delete the app, this locally stored data is permanently removed.

2. Anthropic — Mentor Conversations

The Mentor in Create Your State™ is powered by Claude, an AI developed by Anthropic. When you send a message to the Mentor, that message is routed through Create Your State™'s own secure proxy server and then forwarded to Anthropic's API to generate a reply.

Create Your State™ uses Anthropic's standard Messages API, which is Zero Data Retention eligible. This means Anthropic does not store your conversation content after the API response is returned, except where required by law or needed to combat misuse.

Create Your State™ acts as the data controller for your Mentor conversations. Anthropic acts as a data processor on our behalf. Our proxy server processes messages in memory only for the duration of the request and does not store or log any conversation content.

We do not store your Mentor conversation history on our own servers. Your Mentor conversations are not used to train AI models and are not shared with third parties for any purpose beyond generating your response.

3. Our Servers — Feedback Only

When you submit feedback through the app, your responses are stored in our secure database. This data is used solely to improve the app and is never shared with third parties or used for advertising.

What We Do Not Do

• We do not sell your data — ever
• We do not share your personal information with advertisers
• We do not use your journal entries or ARC Reset thoughts to train AI models
• We do not share your personal content with third parties except as described above
• We do not use your data for any purpose beyond delivering your experience and improving the app
• We do not transmit your voice audio to Create Your State™ servers — voice processing is handled by Apple's Speech Recognition service on your device or Apple's servers, and we receive only the resulting text.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

• Request to know what personal information we have collected about you
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information — we do not sell or share your personal information
• Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights

Your Rights Under GDPR

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you have specific rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Because Create Your State™ is designed with a privacy-first architecture, your personal journal, history, and resilience data are stored locally on your device. We do not store this data on our servers.

• Right to Erasure & Access: You retain full control over your data. You can access or permanently delete your data at any time simply by managing or deleting the app on your device.
• Right to Data Portability: Because your data is stored locally on your device, you have direct access to it at all times. A formal data export feature is planned for a future update.

For any data we do collect on our servers — such as feedback form responses — you can exercise your rights to access, rectification, restriction, or erasure by contacting us at contact@createyourstate.me. We will respond within 30 days.

Legal Basis for Processing

We process data on the following legal grounds:

• Performance of a Contract: To manage your subscription account and facilitate the real-time AI Mentor experience.
• Explicit Consent: For voice input processing. Voice data is processed immediately to deliver the service and is not stored by us.
• Legitimate Interests: For basic app improvement using anonymized feedback data submitted through the app.
• Consent: For marketing emails, when you join our email list. You can withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing.
• Performance of a Contract: To schedule calls and arrange coaching or retreat services you request.

International Data Transfers & AI Processing

Create Your State™ operates from the United States. To provide the real-time AI Mentor experience, the text or voice inputs you submit are sent transitively to our AI provider, Anthropic, for processing.

Create Your State™ uses Anthropic's standard Messages API which is Zero Data Retention eligible. This means Anthropic does not store your conversation content after the API response is returned, except where required by law or needed to combat misuse.

This data is processed in real-time and is not used by us or Anthropic to train AI models. We work with Anthropic under their API terms of service which include data protection provisions. For more information visit http://anthropic.com/privacy.

Voice Input

Create Your State™ includes an optional voice-to-text feature for journal entries and Mentor chat. When you use voice input, your device's microphone captures audio and Apple's Speech Recognition service converts it to text.

Depending on your device and settings, this audio may be sent to Apple's servers for processing. Apple may use this data to improve its speech recognition technology. This processing is governed by Apple's privacy policy, available at apple.com/legal/privacy.

Create Your State™ does not receive, store, or transmit your audio. We receive only the resulting text, which is stored on your device alongside your other journal data.

Voice input requires microphone and speech recognition permissions, which iOS requests the first time you use the feature. You can decline, and the app remains fully usable by typing. You may revoke access at any time in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security.

Website Analytics — Google Analytics

The Create Your State™ website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC. Google Analytics collects standard internet log information and visitor behavior information in an anonymous form. This includes information such as pages visited, time spent on the site, approximate geographic location at the country or city level, device type, and referral source.

No personally identifiable information is collected by Google Analytics on the Create Your State™ website. IP addresses are anonymized before being sent to Google's servers.

This data is used solely to understand how visitors use our website and to improve the user experience. We do not use Google Analytics data for advertising targeting or share it with third parties beyond Google's standard data processing terms.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Website: Email Signups, Bookings and Inquiries

When you use the Create Your State™ website, we collect only the information you choose to give us:

• Email signups. If you join our early-access list or newsletter, we collect your email address and store it with Mailchimp, our email provider, along with a tag showing how you signed up. We use it only to send you updates about Create Your State™. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time.
• Discovery calls. When you book a call, scheduling is handled by Calendly, which collects your name, email and any details you enter. Calendly processes this under its own privacy policy, and we use it only to prepare for and hold your call.
• Retreat bookings and payments. Retreat registrations are handled by YouLi, our booking platform, and payments are processed securely by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe; we never see or store them. YouLi and Stripe process your information under their own privacy policies, and we use your booking details only to arrange your retreat.
• Forms and inquiries. Some forms on our site, such as coaching inquiries, are provided by Tally, which collects the answers you submit. If you email us directly, we receive your email and its contents. We use this information only to respond to you and arrange the services you ask about, including coaching and retreats.
• Hosting. Our website is hosted by Vercel, which may log standard technical information, such as IP address and browser type, to deliver and secure the site.

We do not sell this information or share it with advertisers.

Security

We use industry-standard security practices including encryption of data in transit via HTTPS, encryption of data at rest on our servers, and access controls ensuring only authorized personnel can access server-side data.

Cloud Backup — Coming in a Future Update

A future version of Create Your State™ will offer optional cloud backup of your locally stored data. This feature will require your explicit opt-in consent before any local data is synced to our servers. You will never be enrolled in cloud backup without your knowledge and agreement.

Children's Privacy

Create Your State™ is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a user is under 13 we will take steps to remove their information and terminate their account.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes we will notify you within the app or on our website and update the date above. Your continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
